Hello and thanks for showing interest in continuing your players basketball development with Kennebunk Hoops Tournament program!

The KBH Tournament Program offers the "next step" after their successful time within the RSU21 REC basketball season and is a competitive league (like Clash soccer, football, and lacrosse) which will play teams from all around southern Maine. The “tournament team” season runs from mid-January to end of March, which is a commitment of 3 months of basketball. Between the scrimmages and tournaments, they will play in 10-15 games over this time span, plus have 1-2 practices a week. We will begin our practices for these tournament teams in early January.  The number of tournament hoops teams we form will be based on the number of players that attend Player Evaluations and the number of volunteer coaches that we have.  We also require that all players on these hoops tournament teams play in the RSU21 REC league the season prior to help with their development.

Starting in February these teams will most likely play in 3 tournaments: Paper City Classic in Westbrook, Kittery Tournament, and most likely Marshwood – although we have not decided specifically which tournaments we will enter. We will schedule some scrimmages vs. local towns so the players can get some game experience playing together leading up to the tournament season.

One important difference between our Kennebunk Hoops teams and clash soccer/football/lacrosse is that NOT all players that tryout will make the team. Typically each of the teams will have 10 players maximum, so depending on the number of players trying out, there may be players that don't make a team. KBH will continue to offer chances for development by opening it's door to those players for Skills and Drills development as well.

The cost per player for this team is $175 for the season. This will cover the league and the 3 tournaments that these teams will play in, over the 3 month season.

For those that choose to try out and play in the Tournament Program, we want to stress to you the time commitment required. The season runs from early January to end of March, which is a commitment of 3 months of basketball with practices, scrimmages and games. We want to make sure that everyone understands the time and commitment involved as it’s a long but very fun season.
