Happy Monday all – FYI – while we prepare for our RSU21Hoops Information Night on Wednesday 10/22/25, it’s time to start thinking about Player Evaluations for those RSU21 grade 3 thru 6 girls and boys who wish to play in the KBH Travel Program.
KBH has opened up a $0 KBH Travel Team Player Evaluation online form from the Kennebunk Hoops website. This is only for players who wish to sign up and participate in the Player Evaluation process for making the KBH Travel Teams. You have until next Monday 10/27/25 in order to sign up.
The schedule will be broken into 45 minutes windows between 5:30-8:30PM EST which will be posted later this coming weekend.
Please have your players bring their own basketball (with a marking on it), bottle of water, basketball shoes, shorts and shirt coupled with their coachable attitudes – and be ready to have some fun on the court.
Outside of gym will be 2 KBH board members helping each player to get a colored/numbered pinnie to wear during evaluations. Parents are asked to wait outside during the evaluation process to help keep things focused, thorough and quick.
Post Player Evaluations the KBH board will be meeting and reviewing the data collected and will attempt to build teams that can compete within the Southern Maine Hoops Travel league this coming season.

ABOUT THE MAINE BASKETBALL LEAGUE (TMBL) AND KBH TRAVEL TEAMS
The Maine Basketball League (TMBL) program is a competitive travel league that is like Clash soccer, KBK football, and KBK lacrosse. Our Kennebunk Hoops (KBH) teams will play competitive teams from all around southern Maine.
TMBL is the premier Grade 4-8 Travel League in Maine. No Club teams are allowed in this League. The TMBL begins play in early November and runs through mid to late-February. Each team will play 12 games on non-holiday weekends, and there will be a double elimination playoff at the end of the season. These teams will begin practicing the first week of November with 2 practices a week leading up to the first game and after that the teams can expect to have 1-2 practices a week. Games could either be on Saturday or Sunday. Games will be played in Southern Maine (Saco and Portland, primarily) but some special invites for games outside of the local.
These teams will also most likely play in a local Thanksgiving tournament and a local Christmas tournament, and may also play in 1-2 tournaments in February and March.
The number of TMBL teams we have each year varies depending on the number of competitive players that tryout. This year we are expecting to have 5-6 teams: 6th Boys, 6th Girls, 5th Boys, 5th Girls, 3/4 Girls and 3/4 Boys.
The cost per player for this team is $225 for the season. This will cover the league and the 4 tournaments that these teams will play in, over the 5 month season.
One important difference between our Kennebunk Hoops teams and clash soccer/football/lacrosse is that NOT all players that tryout will make the team. Each of the teams will have around 10 players maximum, so depending on the number of players trying out, there may be players that don't make a team.
Players on a TMBL team will NOT play in our RSU 21 local rec basketball program, as the seasons coincide with each other.
For those that choose to try out and play in the TMBL we want to stress to you the time commitment required. The season runs from early November to end of March, which is a commitment of 4-5 months of basketball. Between the TMBL league and tournaments, they could be playing up to 25-30 games over this time span, plus have 1-2 practices a week. We want to make sure that everyone understands the time and commitment involved as it’s a long but very fun season.
